Bugs for the 2.57 release will also land in comm-central. We are currently fixing up 2.57 in the ESR60 repo right now and will tackle this later. They are fundamentally broken by Mozilla source and api removals.
Do not expect to use any 2.58+ release yet other than for checking if it builds. Support for comm-central and comm-esr60 as top source dir is no longer supported. Starting with ESR60 2.57 all builds need to switch to mozilla as topsourcedir. IanN updated the Linux builder and did 圆4 test builds using clang 8 and gcc 6. VS2019 16.4.1 is not needed for building. #Seamonkey plugin windows#
The Windows builder was updated to VS2019 16.4 and a test build done. frg did a 2.53.1 test build using the preview and it works fine. Microsoft released another 16.4 preview last week. It contains the latest VS2017 compiler too if we still need to do a 2.49.6 build. #Seamonkey plugin update#
frg will update the Windows builder to VS2019 16.4 when available. See Mozilla gecko-dev repo as an example.įixed Infrastructure Stuff Since Last Meeting Patches will still be done via bugzilla first and then checked into hg or git by a peer. The repos will be made public after we tested building from them. Other repos for 2.57 and l10n will follow. IanN is currently setting up a git repo for the 2.53.1 Beta 1 and updating the builders. Other than azure hosting options because of price are also evaluated. Some Capacity planning to find the best price/performance ratio is carried out. Even buildbot had some version specific files outside the tree. Discussion for later when setting up jenkins. IanN remarked that they are tied to the version in the tree. frg thinks we should move the config files for building out of the source tree as much as possible. ewong waits for info from mhoye to be able to work out traffic requirements. Incremental updates need to be done whenever possible later. Cloning the mozilla- repos is problematic. Also evaluation of Ansible and Terraform going together with it is done. ewong is in the process of starting some jobs using Jenkins. Jenkins is being set up on the builders. We are building up a new infrastructure using Azure. #Seamonkey plugin code#
ewong has been looking at Kallithea, RhodeCode and other similar tools which are needed later to automate source code management for non mozilla repos (tools, website and others).
It might be useful in the future to save us money.

daniel mentioned that Azure Pipelines (build agent) is now free to use and also included free build time for Open Source projects. IanN and frg do de-mozilla website changes in bug 1515507. WG9s might be able to help out initially with hosting builds. We are unsure how much traffic we need. ewong started thinking about the servers needed for hosting releases and builds. This includes outdated links and other content in the SeaMonkey Development Resources page. frg can support anyone who wants to do this. The documentation on the website needs to be updated for recent build config changes. Planning the future of SeaMonkey with a new infrastructure is in progress. The project areas on the website need further updates to reflect the current responsibilities after some long time developers and maintainers left the project. See Notarizing Your App Before Distribution. For future macOS releases we might need an Apple Developer ID and notarization process. mozillaZine user "Wish You Were Here" has set up a phpBB forum at SeaMonkey Usergroup. Frank Lion set up a forum at SeaMonkey Board for SeaMonkey support issues and discussion. IanN offered to take mozillaZine over but has not heard back from the owner. We will be on moznet irc too until the server is turned off (planned for February 2020). Please register your nick there and join us in the SeaMonkey freenode irc channel. We moved our main irc presence to freenode. We should assign people to the open items. (who needs to do what that hasn't been recorded in a bug) TPR75 for helping out with pl l10n and IssacSchemm for a new pdfjs version. 1.8 Roundtable - Personal Status Updates. 1.6.3 2.57.x next esr release branch (future). 1.6.2 2.53.x next release branch (in progress). 1.5 Extensions and Plugins Compatibility Tracking. 1.3 Status of the SeaMonkey Source Tree. 1.2.1 Fixed Infrastructure Stuff Since Last Meeting. 1.2 Status of the SeaMonkey Infrastructure.
